Coding Viewed as Key to Iowans' Future

Students from several different Iowa colleges toured technology companies in Cedar Rapids to understand more about their local in state career opportunities.

Along the tour, students visited GreatAmerica Financial Services and Collabrance LLC, to learn how they embrace technology as a company, and the numerous technical jobs available ranging from programming, network and systems, sales, integration or customer service. They emphasized the various technology positions give employees the opportunity to control and grow their own careers.

During the visit, students received a tour of the company, picked a breakout session specific to their interests and participated in a live Q&A featuring different employees of different roles. After the event was complete, students rated GreatAmerica and Collabrance as their favorite company along the tour.
